Rotary in Worsley is doing its bit to brighten the community’s spirit with the Christmas Arts Prize Competition for youngsters in the area.
The competition is aimed at children aged three to 11 years old and participants are asked to display the artwork in their windows.
Anthony Clayson, director of the Rotary in Worsley, said:
“We thought it would be nice at this time to give the young children the opportunity to do any kind of Christmas artwork.”
Mr Clayson added: “They can then display this in their window and show they’re ready for Christmas.”
A variety of work is being accepted into the competition and those getting involved are encouraged to get creative.
Anything from paintings to collages could put your child up for grabs for winning a £10 gift voucher and the competition is already seeing some keen interest.
Once your child has made their piece and put it on display in their window, parents are asked to take a photo and email it to Rotary in Worsley.
The competition is being split up into three different age ranges which are: three to five years, six to eight years, and then nine to eleven-year-olds.
It will be running from November 29 until December 20. On Mondays children are asked to submit their work with the winner being announced the following Wednesdays – each week until the end of the competitions in December.
With the current situation of coronavirus, many of us are facing difficulties so Rotary in Worsley has done this as a way to still be able to engage with the community.
Mr Clayson said: “Covid has stopped us from being able to go to people’s front doors so we’re asking the children to get involved.”
So if you think your family would be interested in this bit of festive fun why not get involved and how some fun this Christmas.
