Laburnum Court Care Home

Laburnum Court Care Home, located just off Lower Broughton, has announced a number of events coming up this December in order to spread some Christmas cheer for residents.

There’s a range of events starting in December, in order to raise money for their residents to have Christmas party.

2020 has been a very difficult year for all elderly residents and the staff that look after them, a Christmas party would be a great way to end the year.

The month starts off with an Elf costume event on the 4th of December, where the staff is allowed to come in dressed as elves for the day and to contribute a couple of pounds for the festive fun.

Also, they are having a staff Christmas Jumper day where staff can also donate a couple of pounds for the cause and come into work in their own Christmas Jumpers to match the residents.

Peter Dancer said: “I just wanted to do something for the residents they have endured nine months of hell, they have not seen their families, it has been horrible!”

“It truly hit me when I saw one of our residents putting her pom-poms on the tree and that is when I realised we have to do something to cheer everyone up!”

Along with all this, the staff has gone to an immense amount of effort to decorate the home for the Christmas season, turning one of the lounges into a Christmas Grotto not only for the Christmas party but for the residents to have a touch of festivity during this difficult period.
