A new Coronavirus vaccine has been developed which is 90% effective.
The vaccine is one of many in its final stages of testing but is the only one to produce results.
During phase three of a trial, conducted by Pfizer and BioNTech, a vaccine was given to 43,500 people in six different countries.
UPDATE: We are proud to announce, along with @BioNTech_Group, that our mRNA-based #vaccine candidate has, at an interim analysis, demonstrated initial evidence of efficacy against #COVID19 in participants without prior evidence of SARS-CoV-2 infection.

They found that only 94 people involved developed coronavirus, however, there were no safety concerns.
Boris Johnson has announced the news of the new vaccination in a press conference today at 5pm.
The UK has ordered 40 million doses of the vaccine which is enough to cover 20 million people.
A quarter of the doses are said to be in circulation by Christmas which may be enough to get the UK back to normal by Spring.
The people of Salford discussed their thoughts on the possible vaccine.
Salford University students, Emily and Millie, feel nervous as they have “heard so much about it being available September next year so it feels very sudden.”
They said they would not get the vaccine as they “feel like there are people who need it more than us so I’d probably just isolate and hope that we wouldn’t get it again.”
Another student said that they ‘would not like to put something like that into my body just yet until it has been thoroughly tested.’
Although, an older couple stated that they would get the vaccine as “we are the generation who have been hit the hardest and it would release us a little bit from lockdown.”
“Hopefully it is better than the old normal and will change people’s attitude towards other people.”
