The hour-long show will also include some games and songs all inspired by the audience’s suggestions.
The New Adelphi’s Front of House Coordinator Ashlee Cox, said: “In the beginning it was a little bit difficult but the comedy club have performed a lot over lockdown and have found new ways to interact and strategies for online comedy.
“Stand-up comedy online was quite a difficult thing as you can’t react with the audience now the whole show is improv games and that helps the students keep their improve muscles warm and helps them learn new skills and rely on their instincts.
Ashlee says participation is still a key part of the event, even though there will be no live audience.
“The good thing about YouTube is that you still get some feedback with some people posting laughing emojis.
“Every student that has been involved has really gained a lot from it and online performance now is really popular and I think it is important that students have these skills as well alongside live performance.
“It has really proved that laughter is the best medicine.”
The New Adelphi Comedy Night has been staged for a number of years, with the final live shows in March followed by online comedy nights in April and May.
“We did a special one in September just for students and freshers but this is not just a show for students it is a show for the public too,” says Ashlee.
This month’s guest is second year Comedy Writing and Performance student Beccy Corless and previous guests have included Chortle Student of the Year and ‘So You Think You’re Funny?’ winners and finalists.
There is no need to book for this highly interactive online show as the event will be streamed via CS Manchester’s YouTube Channel for free.
CSzUK has a number of Salford University alumni members and have been streaming online comedy shows since the first lockdown back in March, and have been amusing crowds worldwide since 2001.
The next comedy night will be on December 1, which will be a Christmas special and the New Adelphi will keep the shows going every month until it is safe to do otherwise.
The virtual show is suitable for those 18+ as strong language and dark/adult themes are used.
