Salford City boss Graham Alexander states his players are still getting to know one another ahead of the visit of Tranmere Rovers to the Peninsula stadium this weekend.
Salford have started the season as many thought they would sitting third in SkyBet League Two, unbeaten after 4 games with two wins and two draws to their name.
The Ammies face a Tranmere Rovers side that currently sit 16th in the league, with four points from four games.
When asked about how longer it will take for his team to fully gel together, Alexander stated: “The team’s probably going to change most weeks because of current circumstances.
“We haven’t had the game time to have seven or eight games with a certain player, where all his teammates understand exactly what he brings – I think the early signs have been very good however.”
Its been quite clear to see over the summer that Salford has recruited experience in the hope of pushing out the division.
However, Alexander believes the mix of youth is just as important, stating: “The newness and nativity of young pro’s can keep the older ones fresh, and I think there’s a real good balance in our squad, players bounce of each other – there’s no cliques in our squad.”
Saturday also happens to be the gaffer’s birthday so he’ll be hoping to celebrate with yet another win come 5pm.
Salford v Tranmere kicks off at 3pm at the Peninsula Stadium.
