“It’s heartening that so many people and organisations are supporting those less fortunate” Struggling Salford charity received donation from local business

Emmaus Salford, a local homelessness charity, received a welcomed donation of supplies from Trafford Park-based business 100 Percent Group Limited.

Dan Williams, Managing Director of 100 Percent Group Limited, delivered a carload of donations to the charity on Good Friday.

The delivery included more than 100 items of food, 100 items of toiletries, 120 toilet rolls and Easter eggs for beneficiaries of Emmaus Salford.

Mr Williams said: “Team 100% are committed to supporting our local community and were delighted to make this donation to our neighbours Emmaus Salford as a contribution to help those who need it right now.”

Emmaus Salford is a local charity that supports homeless people by providing them with a stable home, meaningful work and support for as long as they need it.

100 Percent, a retail marketing business, has previously supported Emmaus by completing the National Three Peaks Challenge fundraising walk and by donating items to support Emmaus Salford.

Rachel Richardson, Community Director at Emmaus Salford, is very grateful for the donations and support received: “Our community is extremely grateful to 100 Percent Group for their latest kind support of Emmaus Salford.

“This is a difficult time for us and many charities but it’s heartening that so many people and organisations are supporting those less fortunate.

“Dan at 100 Percent Group is one of the many local heroes who answered our call for donations. These items will not only support our formerly homeless residents, they will also be distributed to vulnerable households via our social supermarket, Lucie’s Pantry.”

The charity has a number of stores across Salford, selling donated and upcycled furniture, household goods, electrical items, clothes and vintage wares to raise funds for the charity.

However due to the current situation, all of Emmaus Salford’s charity stores are temporarily closed, significantly reducing the charity’s income.

But Emmaus continues to support those in need within the community during these hard times and appeals for any donations to help during the coronavirus crisis.
