Roadworks that went well into the night on the M602 have disturbed residents in Weaste.
“noise-related” activities are meant to only happen between 8.30 am and 10 pm in the week and 9.30 am and 10 pm on Sundays.
However, residents complained when work allegedly went long into the night.
One resident said: “It went all night from Monday. No breaks.
“There’s no reason they couldn’t do this in the day. That’s what winds me up”
“Stopped for six hours on Tuesday then started again at 11 pm. They stopped during the night though [into today].
“Some bloke from those houses was kicking off with them at half-past midnight.
The workers were giving it back to him. He said: ‘F*ckin do that shit again tonight and I’ll bring a f*ckin knife with me when I come back.’
“They’ve reduced the motorway to one lane already as well.
“There’s no reason they couldn’t do this in the day. That’s what winds me up.
“There are loads of them there in the day doing nothing, then the loud work is all done at night.
“There are nurses with kids on those streets.”
In an email from the company responsible for the street works, they said that the workers have been given a “stern conversation” and that they have placed restrictions on the work permit.
