The dreaded lockdown we all knew was coming has arrived, and a seemingly endless sea of days in the house with your loved ones could be hard work.

However, many have come forwards to provide free and easily-accessible entertainment for the whole family during these trying times.

Here’s a list of at home activities and free services to help structure your days and provide entertainment for all the family:

1. Join a live workout class from your living room

There are hundreds of personal trainers providing free live workouts or free accessible video workouts on YouTube every day.

The best part – you won’t feel alone as you will be joining in with many others on the same workout and you are able to communicate with others who are joining in.

You can do these workouts with no equipment, all you need is floor space.

Lilly Sabri has provided a free 14 day self-isolation workout plan, click here for more information.

Rebecca Louise posts new workouts every week and has a ‘Burn app‘ where she creates exclusive content and live workouts, many of which are free throughout the lockdown period.

2. Use Zoom Calls to have virtual gatherings with your friends and family

Just because we can’t have face to face gatherings, doesn’t mean we can’t socialise virtually!

Zoom is a free online service, commonly used for online business meetings, allowing you to have video calls with multiple people.

All you need is an email address to get started!

3. Get your kids involved in a free PE workout class with Joe Wicks

At 9am every day Joe Wicks is providing a free, fun 30 minute PE workout class aimed at children – but parents can get involved too!

Getting your kids active will allow them to burn off some of their never ending energy each day.

4. Get outside and enjoy some fresh air each day

Whether it’s a walk, run or bike ride, it’s important to get out of the house for your one allowed form of outdoor exercise each day.

The free Couch to 5K app could help you to improve and work towards a goal during the lockdown period.

5. Educate yourself with a free online University course
