Flu has started to circulate the UK as hospital admissions have doubled in a week, with the North West having a high intensity of GP influenza-like illness consultation rates in England.
The NHS offers free flu vaccinations to people aged 65 and over, along with children and adults with underlying medical conditions and pregnant women.
These people are urged to get their free vaccine in the next few weeks before the flu season peaks, typically in January.
Assad Albayati, Salford Pharmacist said “The flu jab is very important to every patient out there.
“Getting the vaccination helps other people from transmitting the disease and the virus. Having it benefits you and the people around you.”
If you are unable to attend a GP appointment, most local pharmacies offer flu vaccinations for walk in patients.
