Grab your favourite festive jumper, available in multiple stores around Salford to get involved in the annual charity event, Christmas Jumper Day.
It is held on December 13th, with all of the proceeds going to the charity ‘Save the Children’.
Everyone is welcome to take part in the day, whether it is businesses, schools, organisations or individuals. Instead of wearing normal clothes for the day, a festive jumper is worn to raise funds and awareness for Save the Children, on the lead up to Christmas.
Last year, the University of Salford took part in the day. Photography students raised money by setting up a photo booth alongside a human-sized gingerbread man that people could have their photo taken with if they donated £2 to the cause.

Nandos at Salford Quays participated by collecting money with buckets at the tills and wearing their Christmas jumpers and festive gear. Our very own Salford Now newsroom also got involved with the festive event by wearing their Christmas jumpers.

The tradition has grown in popularity since it was launched in 2012 and has so far raised millions of pounds. Once wearing a Christmas jumper in support of the charity, an individual will then donate £2 which will go towards the children involved.
You can grab your hands on a Christmas jumper at many stores across Salford. Head down to one of these venues to get holiday hunting.

Pledging money to the cause is very simple. It can be done via text, post, online or the Save the Children’s website itself.
