Fire crews were called out yesterday afternoon following a fire which broke out on the first floor of a Chinese restaurant in Worsley.
Flames were seen rising from the roof of Tung Fong in Worsley Road – a converted Grade II listed property.
Tung Fong opened its doors 30 years ago and is a popular restaurant in Worsley.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue said the fire started in the roof space of the restaurant.
They said: “We were called at 3.48pm to a restaurant on Worsley Road to reports of a fire involving the roof space of the building.
“Crews from Farnworth, Agecroft, Whitefield and Stretford were in attendance.”
Police and ambulance crews also attended the scene.
It has been reported that the restaurant was not open at the time of the fire and no one is believed to have been injured.
Residents have voiced their thought on social media, with one posting: ” Hopefully everyone is ok!”
The fire has since been put out with the timbers of the roof being severely charred.
