The Audacious Foundation is currently collecting donations for The Big Give, in partnership with the Audacious Church.
The Big Give in Salford, which will happen on December 22, is a charity event that has happened at Christmas for the past three years.
The aim of The Big Give is to deliver free hampers to families in need with all the ingredients needed to make a Christmas dinner.
The hampers will go out to families locally in Salford as well as Greater Manchester.
The group aims to give around 250 hampers every year which cater for six people, making a total potential of around 1500 people being fed.
To complete their goal, local primary schools, food banks and social services all help to produce and deliver these hampers.
This year, around 500 people in total are set to be helping out and volunteering.
Anyone is welcome to aid the project by bringing food, packing the hampers or delivering them.
Laura Howard, program director of the Audacious Foundation said:
“There’s quite a lot of families that struggle to enjoy Christmas because of its financial implications and all the other stresses that come over the holiday period, especially with food poverty. So we started The Big Give with the view of addressing some of those needs within the local community.”

“I think the great thing about it is that we’re giving people a Christmas experience and an opportunity to be part of a community at Christmas time. It helps with all of those practical needs but also reduces isolation, gives an opportunity for families to make memories and to be a part of something that’s a fun, community event.”
If you want to donate any items, you can bring them any week to the Audacious Church between Monday and Friday or on Sunday.
