Blackley and Broughton has been held by Graham Stringer since it was created in 2010 after boundary changes.
The constituency changed from Manchester Blackley in 1997, when it was also held by Stringer, who had earlier stepped down as the leader of the city council.
Stringer is expected to maintain his position after significantly increasing his majority in 2017.
His constituency covers mainly North Manchester as well as patches of Salford. Unlike most Labour MPs, Stringer has always had a pro-Brexit stance. He has been highly vocal, which he will be hoping will help him halt any surge from the Brexit party.
At the last election, the Conservative party came second with fewer than 9,000 votes.
Back in 2015 it was UKIP who came in second place, all be it in a one horse race where they were miles behind the Labour party.
Who is representing each party?
James Edward Buckley – Brexit Party
Iain Colin Donaldson – Liberal Democrats
Alexander Victor Elias – The Conservative Party Candidate
