A comedy production about the life of Richard III, “Car Park King”, is coming to Salford’s Kings Arms later this week.
The play begins a three-night stint in Salford on Thursday October 24 as part of a 19-date UK tour.
Jess McDonagh, founder of its production company Every Egg A Bird Theatre, is excited for the play’s arrival.
She said: “We love Salford. We all trained in the North West and many of us work in Manchester (our adopted city.) We brought, ‘Car Park King’ to Manchester for a few days on our 2017 tour and it went down a treat with the locals.”
To me it’s like classic Black Adder meets Horrible Histories. The script is a work of art in comedy. Fan bloody tastic tonite @ArtsCtrWton. Congratulations @EveryEggABirdTC on an excellent slick production. A must-see show – check dates for a venue near you. #CarParkKing pic.twitter.com/wtHvu0tZ8K

Ms McDonagh is confident the wacky comedy will hit home.
“People should come see, ‘Car Park King’ because it is wonderfully silly. Our simple aim is to make you laugh.
“So if you miss the humour of Blackadder, Monty Python and Spike Milligan, come to the King’s Arms and join us for for an evening of side-splitting laughter in this bizarrely silly farce.”
Adult tickets cost £11 with all concessions at £9. All three dates are still available and can be purchased from here.
