As Premier League clubs enter the season’s international break, hundreds of non-league clubs will still be in action over the weekend.
Non-League Day 2019 will take place on Saturday 12 October. It will be our 10th event and we’ll be working once again with our charity partners @ProstateUK.

Saturday October 12 will be the tenth annual non-league day, in partnership with Prostate Cancer UK.
The event goes a long way to helping non-league clubs not only survive, but continue to operate.
Here are some clubs local to Salford that you can visit this Saturday.
FC United of Manchester are in action at Broadhurst Park (M40 0FJ) as they take on Buxton in the Northern Premier League. Three points for Neil Reynolds’ side could see them as high as 5th in the table.

Trafford FC (M41 5DL) take on Runcorn Linnets in the FA Vase Trophy and Prestwich Heys (M45 6WG) are playing Holker Old Boys.
Maine Road FC (M21 0TT) welcome Glasshoughton Welfare.

Non-League football has been the starting point of many professional footballers careers, most notably, Jamie Vardy. The England and Leicester City striker told the Premier League: “”When you’re at non-league clubs, there are people who’ve been there 40, 50 years,” he says.
“It’s literally their life, making sure that the clubs survive and making sure that grassroots football is still going. They are the people that deserve real credit.”
Vardy had been released by Football League club Sheffield Wednesday when he was a teenager and it was non-league football that helped him start playing again.
“One of the lads who’d been released at the same time as me played for a Sunday league team and asked me to go, so I just went and started playing again, to try and get the enjoyment back.”
Non-League clubs are primarily ran by volunteers and many could do with more help especially in Greater Manchester.
West Didsbury and Chorlton
‘West’ have a strong supporter group who support the team both home & away. The club were formed in 1908 and have become a vital part of the Manchester community. Currently competing in the North West Counties Premier Division, the club have several teams with the youngest aged under 7’s.

Radcliffe Football Club
Radcliffe are in the Northern Premier League Premier Division after achieving promotion last season. They are now just one step away from the Vanarama National League North. Former Manchester City striker Jon Macken is their manager and they are always on the look-out for new volunteers.

Prestwich Heys Football Club
Prestwich Heys formation can be dated back to 1938. They were one of the top amateur clubs in the country during the 1960’s and used to have thousands of supporters watch the team play. Adults can gain entry to home games for just £5!
