Salford Red Devils’ Jackson Hastings has been named the 2019 Steve Prescott MBE Man of Steel.
Hastings was presented with the award last night at the Lowry Theatre in front of Super League legends, past and present, as well as 250 vocal Red Devils supporters.
I’ll cherish this moment for life.
This is for everyone that’s rode the wave with me,
Honoured to have my name alongside some of the ?’s of the game.

Hastings, who had already been up to receive Fans Entertainer of the Year, dedicated this award to his family and teammates that helped him through his transition from Australia to Salford.
“It’s an honour. I was sat up there with my mum and I had sweaty hands and she grabbed me when she saw me come up.”
“As I touched on in the video, it’s the greatest honour I’ve had in my career and in my life.”
“Without my coach there, Steven Hales, my reserve grade coach at Blacktown, he relit that fire for me and without the two Ian’s up there, I wouldn’t be here with the trophy.”
“My housemate Joey [Lussick], without him I’d be lost. He does all the washing, cleaning, cooking and his performances this year have been unbelievable.”
The half-back also became the first ever Salford player to win the illustrious award.
