The 2019/20 season will bring with it unknown territory for Salford City Football Club as the Ammies enter the Football League for the first time.

Following on from their success at Wembley last month, Graham Alexander and his men found out their latest set of fixtures this morning.

Salford begin life in the fourth tier of the English footballing pyramid by welcoming Stevenage to the Peninsula Stadium on August 3. Meanwhile, their first away day of the season will see them travel to Crawley Town seven days later.

Other key dates include a trip last season’s playoff finalists Newport County on November 2. A victory here would make a real statement from the newly promoted side who will likely be looking at another promotion this year

Salford are set to have a busy festive period hosting Crewe Alexandra on Boxing Day – followed by a trip to rivals Oldham Athletic, before finishing with a visit to Grimsby Town on New Year’s Day.

The Ammies’ final league game of the season will be away at Cheltenham Town on Saturday 25th April where they will be looking to cap off the season in style. Cheltenham struggled at times last season, however, they will be looking to finish in a playoff spot by the end of the season.

For the first time ever, Salford will be entering the English League Cup this season. They will learn of their opponents following the conclusion of tonight’s draw. Included in the draw are the bottom side in last years Premier League campaign, Huddersfield Town.

A win in the first round could see the Ammies face Premier League opposition in round two.
