Greater Manchester Police have released CCTV footage of a woman last known moments before being found dead in Salford.
Karen Ellen Smith’s body was found near to Merlin Road At around 2.15pm on Sunday 14 April 2019. Police had been searching for her after being reported missing.
The 53-year-old from Salford was reportedly last seen in her local shop on Sunday 17 March 2019. Below is the CCTV footage from that day, appearing to depict some of her final moments.
Detective Sergeant Karl Dalton, of GM’s Salford district, said: “This is a tragic incident and there are a dedicated team of officers committed to finding out exactly what happened in the lead up to Karen’s death.
“We have released CCTV in the hope that someone in the local community may have seen Karen and can help us piece together Karen’s last movements.
“Aside from the CCTV which shows her in a local shop on Sunday 17 March 2019, we know that Karen was in the area on Monday 8 April 2019. Has anyone seen or heard from Karen since then? If you have, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.”
