Gabriel Ford, service leader for the MSK Physiotherapy department believed the ‘Cycle to Paris’ fundraiser which they hosted, was not only going to be a great means of raising money for Comic Relief, but also a fantastic way to promote health and fitness.
He explained: “We got great support from all the staff and members of the public. It was an excellent way to promote exercise and empowering people to make positive lifestyle choices’’
The 12 hour journey to ‘Paris’, began at 7.30 AM, rallying a crew of over 40 willing staff members who alternated between them, completing 1 hour slots per person and 3 bicycles running at a time.
Between all the staff involved, a total of 460 miles were covered over the course of the day.
The team have outdone themselves by furthering their mileage target past Paris all the way to Dijion, in addition to completing the challenge early.
Gabriel added: “We raised loads of money for this fabulous charity and smashed our mileage target and got beyond Paris and made it to Dijon”
A public donations page is now live on JustGiving which allows you to donate as little as £2.00.
