St. Patrick’s Day, which is held every March 17, celebrates Irish culture and heritage and holds major importance to not only those who live across the water, but the people Salford too.
The event continues to be a big occasion each year in Salford particularly, with a parade travelling through the City Centre for the Irish Festival and thousands flocking to bars and restaurants to raise a pint of Guinness to the patron saint.
Like many years prior, businesses in Salford are pulling out all the stops in attempt to match the buoyant atmosphere in Ireland across the St. Paddy’s weekend. Here are just a few of the many places you can celebrate next weekend…

Lime Bar, Salford Quays. 17th.
Many pubs around the city will be offering a multitude of traditional Irish drinks, such as Guinness, Jameson’s and Ginger Ale, while the Lime Bar in Salford Quays goes one step further.
The bar will offer live music from ‘Scratch Trio’ performing with a loop pedal guitar, beatbox, saxophone and ‘powerful vocals’.

You can start St. Patricks Day early by booking your place in the AJ Bell stadium’s Irish-themed Platinum Club for the Red Devils’ next home game against Hull FC on Friday March 16.
There’s an Irish-based menu with a main course of a daube of beef, slow braised with root vegetables and Guinness served with traditional champ potatoes and soda bread, while for dessert there is warm apple crumble tart with custard. There will also be a selection of cheeses served with seasonal chutney post-match.
Attendants will also get access to pre- and post-match entertainment, interviews with non-playing players prior to the game, the Man of the Match award following full-time, a complimentary match day programme ont to of watching Salford take on back-to-back Ladbrokes Challenge Cup winners Hull FC from the comfort of a padded seat.

St Patrick’s Party Splat Messy Play. 15th.
Splat Messy Play provides messy play classes, parties, and events for hundreds of children across the UK.
Their weekly messy play classes are designed for those aged six months and upwards, and is the perfect place for young children this Paddy’s Day.

The Cathedral will be holding a Mass (partially in Irish) followed by an Irish Music Session with food also provided.
They have also asked musicians to get involved, and are happy for visitors to bring along their own instruments to help celebrate the day.
