Police in Salford are appealing for information after footage surfaced of a masked man driving dangerously on a motorbike with a young child on board.
The man was seen driving an off-road bike down Frederick Road in Salford on shortly before 3pm on Friday 1st March, with a young boy sat on the fuel tank of the vehicle.
Neither the man in question or the child appeared to be wearing a helmet, with the driver riding extremely dangerously, pulling wheelies whilst speeding down the road.
Another man is seen riding in front of the masked man and child, also on an off-road bike, however he was wearing a helmet.
A caller raised concerns to the police after witnessing the man pull a wheelie down the street with the young boy on the fuel tank.
Officers attended but the riders had left. CCTV also identified the two men riding bikes on Littleton Road about 2.20pm.
PC Steve Williams, from GMP’s Salford division, said: “Although you can’t see the men’s faces, I’m hoping someone might recognise the bikes or know who is behind the mask. So please take a long look at the images.
“Their actions were brazen and reckless, not only putting themselves and other road users in danger but they also put a young child at risk.
“Anything could have happened and ultimately this could have had devastating consequences, not to mention we understand the concerns the use of off-road bikes raise in communities.
“We are desperate to stop this happening again and find those responsible. Please, if you know anything, get in touch with police immediately.”
