British snowboarding star Katie Ormerod visited Salford based sports centre Graystone Action Sports last week, where she is now set to continue her Olympic training.
Ormerod, who visited the recently opened multi functional facility last Friday will have her eyes firmly on the 2022 Olympic Games which are set to take part in Beijing.

The addition of the 21 year old to Salford is a huge draw for the centre who were very quick to sing their praises of the young snowboarder ahead of her time with them.
“Katie’s one of the world’s top female snowboarders and she’s been a big advocate for Graystone going back way before we even opened. Having an athlete like Katie train and progress at Graystone is what we’re all about. She’s one of the nicest people we know and is a true professional in every sense of the word.”
Often cited as one of Britain’s finest young talents, the Yorkshire born snowboarder so far has had a very promising but at times painfully unlucky career.
At age just 16 the winter star narrowly missed out on qualifying for the 2014 games in Sochi, before having to pull out of PyeongChang’s 2018 games after breaking her ankle in two places. She had been tipped to be one of Great Britain’s best chances of a medal.
But now after 7 surgeries and time out of the sport still at only age 21, Ormerod is back on the board and is finally ready to look onto what will hopefully be her games in 2022.
