No plans for Valentines? No worries. Next Wednesday, Salford University’s Student Union invites you to step into your television and take part in their version of Take Me Out, a cheesy dating show broadcasted on ITV2.
With 24 lucky panelists and 4 eager contestants looking for love, organisers insist that this year’s take on Take Me Out is bigger than ever before. For £3 entry, attendees get to watch contestants sacrifice their dignity in search for a last minute valentines date, and also enjoy music from a live in-house DJ.
The event runs from 7.30pm and tickets are available on a first-come-first-serve basis, so be quick to grab your seats. It grows more popular every year, here’s a snapshot of the crowd in 2017:
Charlie Mulholland, a student at the University, attended the event last year. “I thoroughly enjoyed it, the whole thing had a really good concept to it,” he said. “I’d definitely go again next year!”
Fancy taking part? Organisers are taking applications from anybody so you might be in for a chance of love. Applicants get free refreshments and are in for a chance to win a date to (fer)Nandos! If you are interested in joining, you must email their information to m.marcia1@salford.ac.uk, including:
- name
- age
- university course
- where you’re from
- telephone number.
As Paddy says: “Let the Hanky see the Panky!”
