Time to Change is a growing movement helping change the way we all think about mental health problems, with the aim of ending mental health discrimination.
The Mental Health Foundation states that every week, one in six adults experience a common mental health problem, such as anxiety or depression, and one in five adults have considered taking their own life.
This year, Time to Talk day is all about ‘bringing together the right ingredients’ to help discuss mental health, be it a light conversation with a cup of tea and biscuits, or an activity day in a school or workplace.
Having conversations about mental health helps break stereotypes and improves relationships between families, coworkers and friends, as well as the lives of those who are suffering with mental health issues each day.
If you wish to talk to a professional this Time to Talk day, this map shows the mental health services available across Salford.
Time to Change is also offering free online materials and handy guides for everyone on their website to help get the conversation started, and help improve the stigma surrounding mental health.
