Salford City Supporters Football Club thrashed cross-city rivals Manchester City Supporters Football Club 6-2 in a comfortable win, with striker Kalvin Morris scoring a hat trick.
Salford continued their good form with back to back derby wins having beaten Manchester United Supporters FC 4-3 last Saturday.
First Half:
The game started off as a cagey affair, with City almost taking the lead having got in behind the defence, but a smart block by Salford keeper Pete Breeze kept the sides level.
After this, however, it was all Salford. Stuart Schofield was a constant threat down the left win, forcing the City goalkeeper into a fine save, as well as hitting the side netting and shooting just wide. There were further chances for Salford with midfielder Danny Lee seeing his shot saved and winger James Croft hitting the post.
A Salford lead looked inevitable and eventually, they took the lead when a corner fell to striker Kalvin Morris, who could not miss.
Salford continued to press, but City forced an unlikely equaliser when an attempted cross eluded Breeze in goal and found itself in the top corner.
However, Salford, shaken by conceding a frustrating goal, soon found themselves back in front, when winger James Croft was played in behind the City defence to put his side back in front just before half time.
Second Half:
City started the second half well and were soon level again when a long ball found its way behind the Salford defence and they were able to equalise.
Despite this early momentum, this was where the joy ended for City, as The Ammies supporters put on a swashbuckling attacking display.
Danny Lee put them back in front with a clever finish from just inside the box, before Kalvin Morris grabbed his second with a thunderous free kick into the top corner.
Morris then completed a hat trick with a firmly hit penalty to make it 5-2.
Salford continued to probe and Stuart Schofield was a constant menace to the City defence, being unlucky not to get on the scoresheet; hitting the woodwork multiple times, as well as being denied by some smart goalkeeping.
However, it was Lee that had the final say with a neat finish from close range to cap a resounding 6-2 win.
Man of the Match:
Kalvin Morris. Not only did the striker claim a hat trick, he was also a constant menace and his passing ability caused problems for the City defence all game.
