Lancashire all-rounder Liam Livingstone has been signed by Rajasthan Royals in yesterday’s IPL auction.
Livingstone was picked up by the royals at a price of around £56,000. This will be his first time playing in the IPL which is regarded as the best T20 league in the world.
Livingstone posted on Twitter following the auction saying he was “extremely excited to be given the opportunity to join up with Rajasthan Royals.”

In signing for the Royals he will join up with fellow Lancashire team mate Jos Buttler who scored 548 runs from 13 games in last season’s IPL.
He will also play alongside England all-rounder Ben Stokes, former Australia captain Steve Smith and Jofra Archer who will soon become qualified to play for England.
Livingstone made his T20 International debut last year for England against South Africa following impressive form for Lancashire in the T20 blast.
The 25 year – old has an impressive strike rate off 145.47 in T20 cricket and has made a T20 hundred as well as taking 14 wickets.
These performances have attracted attention form T20 leagues around the world and last month he was picked by Karachi Kings in the PSL.
Elsewhere in yesterday’s IPL auction James Faulkner who will again play for Lancashire in this summer’s T20 blast went unsold.
Former Lancashire players Zahir Khan and Ryan McLaren also were unable to find a buyer at the auction.
New Lancashire signing Glenn Maxwell had decided not to put his name down for next year’s IPL so he could spend more time playing for Lancashire.
