A new indoor sports training centre is set to open in Salford, following a preview event with Olympian Billy Morgan.
Graystone Action Sports Centre opens to the public on Saturday.
As a special preview, students from the University of Salford, University of Manchester and Manchester Metropolitan University were invited to the centre where they could try out the facilities before anyone else.
Billy Morgan won an Olympic bronze medal in Pyeongchang in February this year. He hopes the centre will encourage more people to partake in the style of sport he loves.
Mr Morgan said: “You need somewhere with reduced risk and somewhere you can train in a lot of different disciplines and this place is ideal.”
The event was sponsored by Red Bull and coaches at the centre hosted sessions for the students to get involved.
The centre is open to professionals and beginners alike, encouraging those wishing to kick start a passion for action sports.
Founder of the centre Kevin Gray said: “Bringing new people into the sport is very cool. There will always be beginner sessions every week and you can rent equipment so if you come in as a beginner there will be equipment to use.”
“This isn’t just for the elite level athletes. We’ve built these facilities for everyone to get involved in this type of sport”
