A weekly job club has launched to help unemployed Salford workers find jobs.
Latest government figures show that 4.7 per cent of Salford’s population is unemployed prompting the The Angel Centre in Salford to provide a weekly Basic IT and Job Club on Thursday mornings between 10am and midday.
The job club is a joint venture between Salix Homes, FIT Ltd and The Angel Centre.
The sessions can provide support with job searching, CVs, online job applications, preparing for interviews, cover letters, and other work-related matters.
The session also offers basic IT support to help people with online job applications.

FIT Ltd is a not-for-profit training company which runs a parallel employability course at The Angel Centre on Tuesday mornings to help people back into work.
Since the Job Club started in September, 18 different people have attended the Job Club on a drop-in basis but more job seekers could benefit.
Graham Gordon, from FIT Ltd, said: “We have had some job outcomes which we’re very pleased about, and we’re very pleased with the interested we’ve generated.
Phil Boardman, who is a Job Club coordinator in Salford, said: “I think the beauty of these sorts of courses is that they’re not government driven.
“We’re in a very informal, relaxed environment, they can come in, get a cup of coffee, biscuits and it is very informal.”
The Angel Centre is part of Social adventures, a social enterprise jointly owned by local Salford people and employees.
The centre also offer many more activities including ‘Gardening, growing, building and socialising’, ‘Dance Like A Mother’ and many fitness classes.
