As the Christmas period approaches Christmas spirit is starting to spread over Salford as family-friendly events set to take place in Salford Quays.
Salford Quays starts to celebrate Christmas spirit this month with many different attractions and activities the whole family can get involved in.

Here is a list of some events that the whole family can enjoy:
- Claus’ Christmas Cabin in Salford’s Lowry Shopping Centre
The cabin is in Salford on the dates 22nd November – 24th December
Santa Claus is coming to town, your children can enjoy the magical Christmas Cabin with Santa Claus himself. Children under 18 can visit Santa for £8 and adults go free, tickets can be booked on the Lowry Outlet website.
- Christmas river cruise
Set sail on this cruise on the river Irwell and enjoy live music, food and stunning views.
The cruise lasts three hours and departs at 6pm on Sunday’s and 7pm on Thursday’s from 25th November to 20th of December. - Christmas Lowry Markets
This Victorian themed Christmas market takes place at The Lowry Outlet with over 100 stalls, fairground rides, festive food, and Victorian themed entertainment for everyone to enjoy.
The market is open from 10am to 7.30pm from Thursday 24th November to Saturday 26th November, and from 11am to 5pm on Sunday November 27. The entry is free which turns into a perfect way to celebrate the spirit of Christmas.
- Lightwaves Festival at Salford Quays
The annual light festival returns to Salford Quays, with 10 brightly lit art works will be placed around the Quays. The festival is open from midday to 10.30pm daily from December 9th to 18th. Entry is free for more information visit the Quays Culture website.
- Walking with the Snowman art exhibition
Walking with The Snowman is a free Christmas sculpture trail around MediaCityUK to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Raymond Briggs’ classic picture book The Snowman.
The Walking with the Snowman trail opens next week at Salford’s Quays first ever light switch on. The exhibition which features 12 giant Snowman sculptures themed around the song The Twelve Days of Christmas.
