Remember, remember the 5th of November. Bonfire night is officially upon us again. Check out the best places in Salford to get your fix of fireworks, toffee apples and everything in between.
There are a number of organised events across the City, with something for everyone. Whether it be a couples night out, a laugh with the mates or fun with all the family, Salford has you covered.
Irlam Fireworks and Buile Hill Park Bonfire
Salford City council will be putting on 2 organised bonfires for all ages this year. Irlam Fireworks, held at Prince’s Park, Liverpool Road, Irlam (M44 6BJ) and Buile Hill Park Bonfire, held at Buile Hill Park, Eccles Old Road, Eccles (M6 8GL). Irlam Fireworks will take place on Friday 2nd November, with Buile Hill Bonfire taking place on Bonfire night its self.
The two council organised events will provide everything you could wish for. Free of charge to enter, the night boasts both a large scale bonfire alongside what is sure to be a fireworks display. There will also be an onsite fun fair suitable for all ages, ensuring fun for all the family. For both events, the gates will open at 6pm along with the funfair. The Bonfire will then be lit at 7pm, with fireworks starting 30 minutes later.
Little Sparks in the Park
Along with the two organised bonfires and fireworks displays above, Salford City Council will also be catering for the much younger audience. Little Sparks in the Park is a family friendly display, centered around children of age 7 and under. The event will take place at the above mentioned Buile Hill Park on Monday 5 November 2018, 5pm to 6pm . The low noise display will feature a ten minute sparkling firework show for families with young children who want to avoid the loud bangs that bonfire night brings with it.
Roe Green Cricket club
If that wasn’t enough for you, why not head out on Saturday night as well. Roe Green Cricket club, Worsley (M28 2QW) will be holding their own bonfire and firework event. With a bonfire and firework display, accompanied by an outside bar and hot food, this one is sure to be a party. Unlike the 3 events listed above, there is a small charge to attend the Roe Green bonfire. The price of an adult ticket to attend will be £4 with children priced at just £2. There is also the option to buy a family ticket (2 adults, 2 children) for £10, and if you are really up for a wild night, you can purchase a VIP ticket for £100. This is for 4 people and includes a bottle of prosecco and a bucket of beer to sip whilst watching the nights events unfold. All proceeds will go to supporting the Cricket clubs youth development.
City Airport
Ever wondered what a firework show from the back of a plane would look like? Well the City Airport has you covered. This may be the most expensive night out on our list but is certainly the most interesting. If the usual Bonfire and fireworks just isn’t for you, then the City Airport offers a completely different experience. Situated at the City Airport, Liverpool Road, Eccles (M30 7SA) the former Barton Aerodrome have teamed up with ‘Illumintaed’ to create a unique firework experience. On the night you will be taken through the years with fireworks and music, all with an aviation theme. This year will also see for the the first time, a live ‘model aircraft pyrotechnical display’ which isn’t to be missed. With a fun fair, alcohol bar and DJ all on site, this one sounds like a must see event. Ticket details are as follows.
