Swinton Ladies were beaten 5-3 by Sale Ladies on Sunday in the second-round of the FA County Cup.
Despite goals from Anna (2) and Chloe, Swinton couldn’t continue their fantastic start to the season and force their way into the second round of the County Cup

However, Swinton remain three points clear at the top of the Greater Manchester Women’s Football League Division Two table.
Their next tie comes against fourth place Hayside Angels FC on 28th October where Swinton will hope to bounce back from their disappointment in the cup.
The win for Sale Ladies is their second in this competition so far this season, after defeating Flixton 4-2 in the first round of the cup. Sale have however lost all three of their league games so far and sit at the bottom of the Greater Manchester Women’s Football League Division One table.
Next up for Sale is a home tie against third place Barr Hill Ladies on 28th October.
The date for the next round of FA County Cup ties is yet to be decided.
