A CHOIR formed to mark the centenary of the start of World War One has performed again to premiere new work to commemorate the end of the conflict.
The Honour Choir held a special concert at The Lowry on Sunday to give the first performance of a new piece by Manchester composer Andrew J Smith.
Thoroughly enjoyed singing @AJS_music 's Honour song cycle with @honourchoir at @The_Lowry. Was totally overcome with emotion by the end though and had to mime the high note – hope no one noticed!

Mr Smith said: “It’s always a bit nerve racking and also exciting to hear your music for the first time because this is a premiere of three of the movements. So I’m really looking forward to that and the audience’s reaction.”
He has composed music for the BBC, ITV and the Manchester International Festival among others.
The Deputy Lord Mayor of Manchester June Hitchen, the Ceremonial Mayor of Salford Peter Connor and Councillor Tanya Burch were all in attendance.
Councillor Tanya Burch said: “The performance left all of us moved to the core with gratitude to those who fought for our peace.”
The Honour choir was created in 2014 and now has more than 70 members.
The Manchester based choir’s first performance was for a commemorative event at Media City UK in 2014 marking 100 years since the beginning of World War One.
The choir was created solely for the commemorative event at Media City. However the choir was relaunched in 2015.
Since then the choir has performed all over the North West of England.
