A daughter from Gorton is trying to raise money for her father’s last wish.
John Himsworth is suffering with oesophagus and kidney cancer and a tumour in his stomach and lymph glands. He was diagnosed in 2016 and has deteriorated rapidly since.
His daughter Danielle Himsworth, has recently setup a GoFundMe page for her dying father to raise £6,000. The money will go towards a final holiday in Lanzarote.
So far, 51% of the target has been raised.

Doctors have said Mr Himsworth has not got a lot of days to live. Danielle said: “His fight is coming to an end, he’s constantly in and out of hospital and everything is shutting down.
“As every day goes by he’s looking less and less like my dad, he doesn’t laugh anymore, he doesn’t sound the same, he’s gone.”
Guess what Danielle…your Dads final wish came true…check your Go Fund page. Have a lovely weekend x https://t.co/oi5THtf8cz

John and Mandy have been together for thirty-three years. They fell in love in the town of Puerto Del Carmen. Unfortunately the couple have not been back since.
Mandy was also diagnosed with cancer 3-years-ago. Luckily she was treated and cleared of the disease.
Danielle said: “My dad was dying in front of me and there was absolutely nothing I could do to stop it.
“He’d been going to the doctors for three years before hand and they wouldn’t do anything, so it spread and when Christie’s found it, it was too advanced because it had been left.”
The most common type of cancer in men worldwide is lung cancer. On the Cancer Research website it states: “More than 1 in 10 of all cancers diagnosed in men are lung cancers.” It has been estimated that by 2030, there will be 23.6 million new cases of cancer each year.
