SEO Specialist, Tom Chapman, who works for digital marketing agency CandidSky, said:
”Keeping our streets clean has a number of benefits.
”From a basic view, keeping our roads and pavements free of rubbish helps prevent illness and decreases the number of pests.
”It also changes how we feel about an area.
”For example, my workplace CandidSky is based in Salford and i feel happier and more productive arriving at the office when my commute isn’t surrounded by rubbish.”
Research has suggested that it costs the UK taxpayer £1 billion every year to keep our streets clean.
Tom Chapman added:
”This is a huge amount of money which could be better spent on more worthwhile goals, such as the NHS.
”Thinking about just Salford, last year it was announced the council would be spending £500,000 to clean up the streets.
”It would be in our best interest if we just cleaned up after ourselves.”
