THE University of Salford must forge business links to ensure its teaching remains relevant to students going into the sector, said a representative of the university,
Head of Enterprise and Industry Partnerships Simon Andrews represented the university at Smarter Business Technology Live, the largest business technology convention in the UK.
Andrews said: “We are a University that is very much rooted in business and it is important that we have contacts in business to make our teaching relevant for students.
“We are good at this sort of thing. We are a mid size university, not huge like the University of Manchester.”
“It is important to bring together a lot of like minded people in the city.”
Over 120 stalls were in the Manchester Central Convention Complex, with more than 150 expert speakers displaying their new products.
The brand new two day event featured the very latest software solutions, tech based partners and services as well as expert panels.
The university has been named within the top 5 national enterprise universities in the UK, and fourth in the UK for the amount of business projects completed last year with over 1000.
The convention will return to Manchester at the same venue on the 31st October and 1st November 2018.
