MANCHESTER’S libraries are hosting free events during this year’s National Libraries Week – including everything from yoga to CV help and computer coding.
National Libraries Week, which begins Monday 9th until Saturday 14th of October is an annual showcase of all the creative, inventive and varied events that libraries across the UK have to offer.
Libraries all over Manchester will be holding Tiny Tots and Toddler Times for children under five years old and their parents.
Parents can bring their little ones to their local library for stories and songs at these free events, and there is no need to book a place in advance.

The purpose of these events is to boost young children’s social and emotional development and help them to become ready for when they reach full-time school.
Central Library is hosting special events as part of this year’s Manchester Literature Festival, featuring appearances from authors including Allan Hollinghurst, Will Self and Harriet Harman.
The programme of activities is aimed to help people make the most of their local libraries throughout the week and they range from job-searching at Longsight Library (drop-in, Wednesday 11 October, 9am-5pm), yoga at Gorton Library (Thursday 12 October, 2pm-4pm), to Lego Club at Withington Library(Friday 13 October 2:30pm-3:30pm), plus citywide activities aimed at young children.
