A WESTHOUGHTON teen will perform in a live showcase after wowing judges of national singing and dancing competition.
Jaiden Sayer, 13, from Westhoughton, has been dancing for two years and impressed judges at the TeenStar auditions last month.
Now he’s preparing for the regional finals, a feat which his family says they are very proud of.
Linzi Sayer, Jaiden’s mum, says the young teen plans to pave a career in performance.
She added: “We’re nervous but also very excited. I want to say thank you to everyone who has supported him, he has over 40 friends and family coming to the showcase tomorrow and that means a lot.”
The budding star will perform in a live showcase tomorrow at Stockport’s Forum Theatre in front of hundreds of audience members and a professional judging panel.
Previous winners include X Factor stars Luke Friend and Emily Middlemas and Jaiden hopes to follow in their footsteps.
Chris Grayston, Events Coordinator for TeenStar, said: “We are looking to find an act that has something unique to offer, another Birdy or Luke Friend that can go all the way, with both the ability to deliver a strong live performance but also potential to become a professional recording artist or dance act.
“Now with the addition of dance acts, these shows are going to be so exciting to watch and judge. There is so much talent out there I’m sure we can find that star again.”
TeenStar is the UK’s only singing and dancing competition exclusively for teens and pre-teens.
