Salford University students say Brexit and the future of the NHS are the biggest issues they face at the upcoming election.
Last Tuesday, Theresa May announced she would seek a fresh mandate from the electorate following last year’s Brexit vote.
Despite the last general election taking place two years ago, Britain is set to go to the polls again in six weeks’ time on June 8, less than 12 months after the country voted to leave the European Union.
Salford students on the Media City campus revealed their biggest concern for the upcoming election is Brexit, while those voting on Twitter said the NHS is their biggest worry.

James Diamond, an MA Broadcast Journalism student, said: “As a student, one of the main worries I have Erasmus schemes for international students might be limited. I personally didn’t do a year abroad, but I was very close to.
“I think if people don’t get the opportunity to do that at a reasonable cost, it will be a real shame. But with the election in general, if the Tories are going for hard Brexit, I’m not sure hard Brexit is what we want.
“I’m torn whether I’m going to vote Tory, or have a wasted vote with Labour.”
Dhanna Estinozo, second year international student said: “I don’t want to leave Britain. I have just got my British passport and citizenship, and I love travelling around Europe without restrictions.
“I feel like it’s going to get taken away from me, I have so much to see.”
Other students said student fees, jobs and political egos, are amongst the issues which trouble them.
In a statement last week, Mrs May said that Britain needed certainty, stability and strong leadership following the vote to leave the EU.
She said: “the country is coming together but Westminster is not.”
