MANCHESTER is preparing to join in on the 10th annual Record Store Day.

Record Store Day is an annual event which celebrates vinyl and independent record shops across the globe.

The event, now in its tenth year, sees thousands of vinyl fans across the world head to their local independent record shops to buy limited edition releases.

Just like previous years, Manchester’s record stores will join over 200 others in the UK in opening their doors early.

The Northern Quarter is sure to be buzzing as Piccadilly Records, Vinyl Revival, Vinyl Exchange and Eastern Bloc Records greet queuing customers eager to be the first to purchase the exclusive releases.

Many vinyl fans will head down early in the morning to join the queues, whilst others choose to camp overnight to secure their place in line.

Manchester bands Elbow, Blossoms, Cabbage and The Courteeners are all joining in on the action, with special releases available in limited numbers across independent stores all over the country.
