YOUTH UNITY have teamed up with Salford Community Leisure to hold sessions for young people at Little Hulton library to attend every Thursday.
The sessions are on at Little Hulton library at 6PM until 8PM and are currently free but they may be looking to increase the charge to 50p.
The idea was created by a group of local residents who are involved in Little Hulton Big Local and felt that the area lacked activities for children and young people in the community.
Enthusiasm Trust are delivering the sessions for the young people and there is also a course that is held for training youth workers that involves them helping out at these sessions.
The first session was held last Thursday and they plan on making it a long term project with increasing the sessions to twice a week.
Alison Jones, Little Hulton Big Local, said: “There was about fifteen to twenty people, so we were not overwhelmed but we had a good number and good feedback from the kids.
“We plan on building it from there.”
Some of the activities involved are table tennis, table football and playing pool.

These sessions are just one of the projects held by Little Hulton Big Local and they plan on also working with Salford Integrated Youth Support Service, also known as WUU2, to create youth grants allowance.
Alison Jones explains further: “They are working with a team of people to draw up a grant program so that other young people can apply for funding to support more youth provision in the area.
“So if they are going to a dance group and they need more costumes or they want to put on a performance, they can make an application for that fund.”
With these two projects underway youth unity are eager for more young people to get involved and come to the sessions to bring the community together.
