A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a pensioner was killed by being hit by a lorry in Cheetham Hill.
The incident took place at around 2pm on Tuesday afternoon, when the elderly gentleman collided with the HGV outside Trinity United Church.
The pensioner was taken to hospital before later passing away.
Police closed Cheetham Hill Road, Greenhill Street and Heywood Street at the time and had diversions in place for public transport. However, Buses are now back on their normal routes on Cheetham Hill road were the collision took place.
