Working Class Movement Libary Hosting Fundraiser

THE Working Class Movement Library are hosting another fundraiser on November 27th, following the ‘fantastically successful’ 2014 fundraiser. The WCM Library building on The Crescent in Salford

The Working Class Movement Library thrive in enlightening the historical working class

heroes and their stories. Icons such as Christopher Eccleston, Julia Hesmondalgh and

Maxine Peake will attend the afternoon of prose, poetry and drama telling stories of

radicalism and revolution.

Library aim to encourage volunteers and donations wherever possible.

Trustee of the Library and icon Maxine Peake said:

‘It is always a pleasure and an honour to take part in the Radical Readings and support the

wonderful and invaluable resource that is the Working Class Movement Library. A building

we should all be proud of’.

The fundraiser will be held at the University of Salford’s Maxwell Hall, on Sunday 27th from

14:00-16:00. The event is now sold out, but the Library encourage willing participants to get

involved with the array of other events.

The Library is regarded as one of the most important collections of historical material on

radical working class organisations in the country. It is available to the public on Wednesday,

Thursday and Friday to view and use the collection.

You can become a volunteer of the library to assist with research for exhibitions and fundraising activities.

You can also make a one of donation, become a regular supporter to help maintain the Library’s unique character and independence, or become a friend and receive invites to regular events held at the Library and their quarterly newsletter, Shelf Life.
