MANCHESTER’S live music scene inflated on Saturday, thanks to the first run of Neighbourhood Festival. But one group that proves local bands have a cutting edge against the others is alternative rock trio, Man Made.
Taking place for a mere 13 hours, the event showcased the vast growth of music venues across Oxford Road. Over 100 bands gathered across the South-side busy corridor with the likes of Blossoms, Twin Atlantic and Pigeon Detectives footing the bill.
Following the popular release of their debut album ‘TV Broke My Brain’, Man Made, fronted by none other than Johnny Marr’s son, Nile, strut onto Sound Control’s main stage with cold confidence.
Meanwhile, lead single Raining In My Head resonates with feel good vibes through its singalong chorus and Marr’s melodic guitar hooks. Unsurprisingly the focus of attention, the frontman sports a pout on his face – reminiscent of his father, complete with a bit of glitter courtesy from young front row ladies who are eager to impress.

The young audiences that bring the exciting atmosphere to Sound Control and the other venues across Manchester’s South end, are undoubtedly the key aspect of what makes the day special. This event is definitely a keeper.
Man Made will also support Telegram at the Night and Day Cafe on 28th October. Tickets go on sale here.
