BESTIVAL, The Isle of Wight’s infamous festival, will soon be approaching with a plethora of Manchester artists gracing the many stages on offer to festival-goers. Quays News entertainment reporter Ashley Thornton-Jones casts his eye forward…
The big news is that British house DJ Carl Cox has been confirmed as one of the main headliners for Isle of Wight’s Bestival Music Festival.
The Manchester music producer will perform his ‘House Classics’ set at the 12th annual edition of the event, to be hosted at Robin Hill Country Park between September 8-12.
Cox has been a regular at Heaton Park’s Parklife Festival in recent years and wowed fans at Peter Street’s Albert Hall back in March.
And his performance at Bestival is expected to be one of his last of the festival season, ahead of the re-launch of The Warehouse Project this Autumn, which he is likely to perform at.
The 53-year-old will perform alongside American electric music group Major Lazer, who dazzled fans from the North-West with their headline performance at Parklife last month.
Skepta, Craig David’s TS5, Katy B and Kurupt FM will also join the ‘Lean On’ stars having also performed at Manchester’s leading music festival.
English rock band The Cure are also set to take to the stage in Hampshire, alongside Hot Chip, Diplo and Fatboy Slim.
Fresh from their sets at Afterlife – Parklife’s official after-party – Eats Everything and Barely Legal will also be performing for the crowds this September.
Away from the music, entertainment will also be on offer in the form of the world’s biggest bouncy castle – as claimed by festival curator Rob Da Bank.
A range of non-musical performances will also be on offer, including The Chuckle Brothers, Mr Motivator, Roundhouse Poetry Collective and Circus Raj
Other attractions include a craft ale bar, a tea tent and various differing food outlets.
