The Raveonettes took to the largest ‘Air’ stage at 8pm. The Danish indie rock duo are a standout on the bill, with the band made up of just lead singer Sharin Foo and multi instrumentalist Sune Rose Wagner.
The band take advantage of the options added by playing on a larger stage to feature a more impressive stage show, using the venues black and white lights to create gorgeous noir style lighting on stage, which frames the band perfectly.

Unfortunatley the band have to battle through various technicle issues including issues with the drums early in the set, the band power through it to passionatley perform songs from seven different releases from their debut “Chain Gang of Love” to their latest album, 2014’s critically acclaimed “Pe’ahi“.
This album, a product of intense studio work after the unexpected death of Wagner’s father in 2013, is packed full of emotion and it translates beautifully live with both members of the band playing openly with their hearts on their sleeves.
The band smash through their hits with a passion that could have easily waned with the unfortunate conditions of their performance but the want to impress and entertain the strong crowd that turned out to watch the Danish band creates a famlial, inclusive atmosphere. It’s quite lovely to see the honesty behind the music.

It’s this sort of honest playing that has earned the Raveonettes their reputation as a solid live band and despite the technical hiccups the band have to deal with, that reputation was certainly not stained.
